Dragonflight Profession Overhaul – What’s Changed?

One of the most significant updates is the revamp of the Professions system, making it more engaging and exciting than ever before. Players can expect to see a completely new specialization system, a reworked interface, and a host of new features that add flair and functionality to the profession experience. Let’s take a closer look at what’s new with Professions in Dragonflight.

Firstly, the profession interface has undergone a major overhaul, featuring a standardized layout that makes it easier for players to toggle between crafting lists from different expansions. Additionally, there are new details specific to each Profession, such as a reworked skill level bar that looks like superheated metal for Blacksmiths or glittering gemstones for Jewelcrafters.

Professions now also have a Secondary Stat System that is similar to the gear systems already familiar to players. Stats such as Inspiration, Resourcefulness, Multicraft, Finesse, and Deftness can increase a player’s crafting effectiveness. Another exciting addition is the Profession Tools and Accessories, which provide bonuses and add some flair to the profession experience. Players can now work in style with new appearances such as Herbalism baskets and Blacksmithing hammers.

Crafting Orders are a flagship feature in Dragonflight that allow players to provide their services in an Auction House-like setting. This feature allows anyone to use a Bind on Pickup item, from armor and weapons to consumables and more.

Last but not least, Dragonflight has introduced a new specialization system that allows players to choose how they wish to develop their profession. Players can focus on making top-tier armor or collecting the highest quality materials possible, or they can focus entirely on something else. This system adds more player agency to the profession experience, and with enough time and patience, players can eventually learn all of their specializations.

In conclusion, Dragonflight has revolutionized the Professions system, making it more engaging and exciting than ever before. Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or new to the game, these updates are sure to add a new level of depth and enjoyment to your WoW experience.

Dragonflight Profession Advantages

Professions are an important aspect of any World of Warcraft expansion, and Dragonflight is no exception. With the new expansion, players have access to a range of unique professions, each with its own set of perks and benefits. In this blog post, we’ll take a look at each profession and what it offers to players.

Alchemy is a great choice for players looking to boost their healing and movement speed, as well as gain increased phial duration. With access to the Elemental Potion of Ultimate Power, players can save gold and reduce cooldowns on potions. Plus, Alchemy requires the fewest Knowledge Points of all crafting professions to max their specializations.

Blacksmithing is a solid choice for players who want to craft high ilevel weapons and plate armor. Plus, Blacksmithing provides half of the professions with their new crafting tools, increasing their crafting and gathering effectiveness.

Cooking remains a staple among secondary professions, providing the same stat bonuses players are familiar with. Players can gather reagents by killing mobs in the world and fishing, making it a great option to pair with Fishing for a powerful combination of crafting and gathering.

Enchanting allows players to craft enchantments for all types of profession tools, weapons, and armor. Additionally, players can disenchant extra armor and weapons into reagents to sell for gold. Enchanting also lets players craft fun cosmetics and a new battle pet.

Engineering has plenty of utility for engineers to capitalize on. Along with traditional battle pet crafts and an expansion of the portable crafting systems, engineering boasts new tinker abilities. These slottable skills can be used on crafted engineering armor and have some unique and powerful abilities.

Fishing is a secondary profession that everyone can enjoy. Players can equip a fishing pole into their profession tools and hit the inland and coastal waters all over the Dragon Isles for fish, which are particularly important for cooking. Fishing also offers magic coins to trade for valuable prize bags and Dragon Isles recipes, as well as lost recipes from older expansions.

Herbalism concentrates on gathering valuable herbs used primarily by Alchemy and Inscription. In addition, herbalists can harvest elemental-charged herbs for Rousing Essences, an important reagent required for high-end recipes in manufacturing professions.

Inscription allows players to create new appearances for their trusty, scaly steeds with the new category of crafts in Dragonflight: Dragon Riding Customizations. Contracts, missives, Darkmoon Cards, and more all make return appearances in Dragonflight, making Inscription as strong as it has been previously. Plus, Draconic Treatises give profession knowledge, a valuable currency in Dragonflight.

Jewelcrafting offers a new hoard of aspect-themed gems, making it a great choice for crafters. The demand for gems will likely be high due to the potential sockets on gear in Dragonflight. Plus, jewelcrafters provide high-quality glasswares to other professions, making them integral to the crafting scene.

Leatherworking offers access to the only profession to craft two types of armor, leather, and mail. Leatherworkers also craft profession tools and accessories for seven different professions and are in demand for drums and leg armors, consumables that have traditionally sold very well.

Mining harvests ore deposits across the Dragon Isles for Blacksmithing, Engineering, and Jewelcrafting. Miners can further specialize to maximize ore yields, improve the chances of valuable rare side gathers and Rousing Essences, increase ore quality, discover gems directly in ore deposits, and mine while mounted in the Dragon Isles.

Skinning is a gathering profession that has undergone some significant changes in Dragonflight. One of the most welcome changes is that more than one skinner can now skin a kill as long as they’ve tagged the mob. Skinners can also immediately skin kills that were tagged only by non-skinners, without affecting the ability of the non-skinner to loot their kill. This provides a great opportunity for skinners to earn valuable Leather, Hides, and Scales for Leatherworking, making it a great source of steady income. Additionally, skinners can specialize in various aspects of Skinning to increase leather and scale yields, craft bait to attract and gather new side items such as meat, species-specific reagents, and items for fish-specific Fishing Lures. You can also specialize in Baits to attract skinnable, elusive monsters that may include Elite and Rare mobs that are otherwise unobtainable.

Tailoring, on the other hand, enters Dragonflight with a bang. Tailors will be able to craft both the standard bags as well as new Reagent Bags, making it an ideal profession for those who like to collect and organize their materials. Tailors can also craft Spellthreads, which are intellect enchants for Leg Armor, and high ilevel Cloth Armor, perfect for any caster. Additionally, Tailors can create new Toys and Banners, which are great for collectors and gatherers alike. So whether you’re looking to gather valuable resources or create unique items, Skinning and Tailoring are two professions to consider in Dragonflight.

Dragonflight Work Order Crafting

Crafting Work Orders in Dragonflight: What You Need to Know!

One of the most exciting new features in Dragonflight is the Crafting Orders system, which lets you request other players to craft items for you, even if you don’t have the required profession or specialization. Crafting Orders is a new interface that allows you to browse through recipes, pick the one you want, and send the order out to a crafter.

There are two ways to send Crafting Orders: you can meet with the crafter in person or go to an NPC that functions similarly to the Auction House. By using the NPC, you can send an order, and a crafter who knows the recipe you want can pick up the order and craft it for you. You can also send optional reagents to help the crafter craft the gear for you, and you can send an additional payment via commissions and even leave notes to the crafter.

Crafters who receive and accept a Crafting Order fill in any missing and optional reagents, craft the item, collect the commission (with a small cut taken by the Artisan’s Consortium), and then deliver the crafted item directly to you in the mail.

Crafting Orders allows for a lot of customization, as you can choose who can see and fulfill your order. It can be available to anyone, members of your guild, or a specific individual.

Crafting Orders is an exciting new addition to Dragonflight that opens up new opportunities for players to interact with each other and expand their crafting possibilities. Check out our detailed guides on how to create and complete work orders using Crafting Order stations to learn more about this new system.

Dragonflight Profession Specializations

Specializations in Dragonflight Professions are making a comeback and they are better than ever! By earning Knowledge Points, you can become a master of a specific area within your chosen profession and become better at crafting or gathering that part of the profession. For example, Blacksmiths can become Armorsmiths, giving them the ability to craft more powerful Plate armor.

What makes Dragonflight’s Profession Specializations unique is the various ways you can earn Specialization points. You can discover old books on bookshelves in forgotten ruins, learn from a hermit in a cave, or find special consumables nestled within the herbs you pick.

With Profession Specializations, you can differentiate your crafting and gathering abilities from other players, making your skills more valuable to your guild. By having different members specialize in different areas of the profession, the guild as a whole benefits from the diverse skill set.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to take your crafting and gathering abilities to the next level with Profession Specializations in Dragonflight!

Dragonflight Profession Experience Changes

Gathering and Crafting Professions in Dragonflight just got a whole lot more lucrative in terms of experience gains! While Herbalism and Mining have always granted small amounts of experience from harvesting nodes, Dragonflight now offers a considerable amount of experience for Crafting Professions as well.

Each time you create a new item in a crafting profession, you receive a First Craft Bonus. This gives you +1 Profession Knowledge and a small amount of Artisan’s Mettle, as well as 11,330 experience. This represents a whopping 6% of a level at level 60! You can use the Crafting Interface to filter for any items that will give you First Craft experience, and you are limited to a maximum of 30 First Crafting completions for gaining experience. While you’ll continue to get Knowledge and Artisan’s Mettle, you will no longer get experience after doing 30 First Crafts.

Players who want to take advantage of this system for leveling characters quickly should consider choosing one of the cheaper professions such as Tailoring or Enchanting, and perhaps even switch among professions to keep the cost outlay low. However, if you’ve already invested a great deal of time and effort into existing professions, you may not want to do this.

It’s worth noting that Herbalism and Mining do not give First Gathering experience, although they do give Knowledge and Artisan’s Mettle for new discoveries. The amount of experience you get from these is more modest (2,300 per herb or mine), but there is no limit to how often you can earn it.

Dragonflight Crafting Profession Stats – Explained

Crafting in Dragonflight has received a boost with the addition of new secondary stats that apply only to crafting Dragonflight items. These stats can be specialized in and can greatly improve the quality and efficiency of crafted items. Let’s take a closer look at each of these new crafting stats:

Inspiration: This stat gives you a chance to roll for bonus quality when crafting a recipe, resulting in higher quality crafted items than what you would normally obtain. With Inspiration, you can craft items that surpass the maximum quality level, making it an invaluable stat for crafters who want to produce top-tier gear.

Resourcefulness: Resourcefulness is a straightforward stat that offers a chance to use fewer tradable reagents when crafting. With this stat, crafters can save on expensive materials, making it easier to produce higher quality items without breaking the bank.

Multicraft: This stat offers a chance to craft additional items when working on recipes for stackable items. By giving crafters a chance to produce extra items, Multicraft is a great way to increase profits and efficiency.

Crafting Speed: This stat increases crafting speed by a certain percentage, allowing for faster production of items. This is particularly useful for crafters who mass-produce items for the Auction House or want to save time.

By specializing in these new crafting-specific stats, players can differentiate themselves from other crafters and produce top-quality items more efficiently. So, whether you’re a seasoned crafter or just starting out, don’t forget to consider these new stats when choosing your crafting specialization.

Dragonflight Gathering Profession Stats – Explained

Dragonflight introduces a new set of secondary stats for gathering professions such as Herbalism, Mining, and Skinning. These stats will affect your ability to gather resources and provide new ways to specialize in your profession.

Finesse: With Finesse, you have a chance to gather more of the primary reagent from a node. Higher levels of Finesse will allow you to gather more of the reagent from a node. For example, with higher Finesse, you can gather more Draconium Ore from a node than usual. Finesse points increase in increments of 10 and provide a 1% chance to gather more.

Deftness: Deftness increases your gathering speed. This is especially useful for long farming sessions. Deftness points increase in increments of 3 and provide a 1% increase in gathering speed.

Perception: Perception increases your chance to find rare reagents while gathering. This includes not only rare reagents but also valuable knowledge-enhancing items. Perception points increase in increments of 10 and provide a 1% increase in your ability to find rare reagents.

These gathering-specific stats provide new opportunities for players to specialize and improve their gathering abilities in Dragonflight. Whether you want to gather more resources or find rare reagents more easily, these stats will help you on your journey.

Dragonflight Crafting Quality – How it Works

In Dragonflight, crafting professions will introduce a new system called Quality that can be earned as you progress in your crafting specialization. This new feature will allow you to create items of varying levels of quality, including five possible levels for crafted gear and three levels for other crafted items like potions and ore.

Crafting higher-quality items will result in better effects, such as higher item levels for gear, more powerful effects for consumables, and additional charges or duration in some cases. To make this system more accessible, the crafting interface will show stats specific to your profession, indicating your current level of quality.

For crafted gear, higher quality will primarily affect the level of the item, with each level of quality increasing it slightly. For example, at Quality Tier 1, an item will be ilvl 270, and at Quality Tier 5, it will be ilvl 280. However, the gains from Quality will not be so significant that lower-tiered items are not worth crafting.

As for consumables, higher Quality will generally result in more powerful effects, but it may also provide additional charges or duration for some items. While low-quality consumables will sell for less, they can still serve as a cost-effective option for those not willing to spend a lot of gold.

Overall, the new Quality system will add another layer of depth to crafting professions in Dragonflight, providing more opportunities for players to customize their gear and consumables to suit their playstyle.

Dragonflight Finishing Reagents – Improve the Outcome Quality

Finishing Reagents are an exciting addition to the crafting system in Dragonflight. These special reagents are used to enhance the crafting process itself rather than the crafted item. By increasing your Crafting Skill or Stats, you’ll be able to create even stronger items.

It’s important to note that not all gathered reagents have Quality attached to them. Core reagents gathered by primary professions such as ores, skins, and herbs will have Quality, as well as reagents crafted by the primary professions like cloth bolts and metal alloys. However, common reagents that can be looted by anyone, such as meat, cloth, fish, and elements, will not have Quality.

When crafting an item, the Recipe Difficulty determines how hard it is to craft the recipe at a higher quality. The Recipe Difficulty is also affected by Optional Reagents, which can either add or remove some of the recipe difficulty depending on the effects and quality.

Your base Crafting Skill is determined by your profession skill, but it can be modified by various factors. These include the quality of used reagents, Finishing Reagents, profession gear with skill bonuses, consumable bonuses, and your profession specialization. While this may seem complicated, the new crafting UI in Dragonflight clearly shows what Quality you’re expected to craft the item at in the Crafting Details menu.

When crafting a new item, there will be a small amount of randomness that can make the end results vary a little. Additionally, if you have any Inspiration, you have a chance of receiving a significant bonus to your Crafting Skill. In the end, your Crafting Skill is compared to the Recipe Difficulty. If your Crafting Skill is higher than the Recipe Difficulty of the item you’re trying to craft, the item is crafted at maximum Quality. Otherwise, the item is crafted with the Quality where your skill falls comparatively.

Overall, the addition of Finishing Reagents adds a new layer of complexity to crafting in Dragonflight, allowing players to further improve their crafted items and make even stronger gear.

Item Recrafting in Dragonflight: Improve Your Gear and Save Gold

One of the exciting new features introduced in Dragonflight is the ability to recraft items. This innovative addition allows players to bring an already-crafted item to the crafting window and, using a special reagent and a portion of the materials used for the original recipe, recraft the item. The result is a piece of gear that has been improved and enhanced, making it more powerful and effective.

Recrafting is an excellent way to change optional reagents, as well as increase the quality of a crafted item. If your quality level is higher than when the previous piece was originally created, you can use the recrafting process to upgrade the item to a higher quality level. This means you can make your gear even better and more effective without having to start from scratch.

The best part is that the recrafting system is available not just to crafters, but to all players via the Crafting Order system. With this feature, you can send out an order to have an item recrafted with either different optional reagents or to have its quality increased. This means that even if you don’t have the crafting skill yourself, you can still take advantage of the benefits of item recrafting.

Overall, the addition of item recrafting in Dragonflight is an exciting development for players. It provides a way to enhance your gear and make it more effective, all while saving gold and resources in the process. Whether you’re a crafter or not, item recrafting is a feature you won’t want to miss.

Dragonflight How to get Crafted Soulbound Items and Profession Gear

Crafting and gathering in Dragonflight has been enhanced with new features, including the ability to access previously Bind on Pick-up profession crafts and obtain new types of gear. Here are some details on how to access these new features:

Crafted Soulbound Items
Thanks to the Crafting Orders system, previously Bind on Pick-up profession crafts are no longer limited to people who can craft these items! The Crafting Orders system allows you to send out a request for a specific item, and have it delivered straight to you once it’s ready. This means that even if you don’t have a particular crafting profession, you can still access the items created by that profession.

Crafting Tables in Valdrakken
Crafters and gatherers will find Crafting Tables in Valdrakken, the new city hub of the Dragon Isles. These tables serve as a hub for crafters to meet up in the zone, or for players to request item orders face-to-face.

Profession-Enhancing Gear
Crafters and gatherers can now obtain new types of gear to help them improve at their professions. These gear pieces do not take up any bag slots and will automatically swap to them once you begin doing anything profession-related, like mining a node or crafting items for that profession.

To obtain these Tools and Accessories, you’ll need to seek out other professions for crafting. For example, Blacksmiths craft a variety of Profession Tools (for Herbalism, Mining, Skinning, Leatherworking, Tailoring, and Blacksmithing itself), but they must seek out a Leatherworker for their last Accessory. Each profession is able to provide some type of Tool or Accessory, except for Alchemy.

These new pieces of gear will grant secondary stats that will help you improve at your profession. Accessories have set Secondary Stats per item, while Tools can be custom-made using Draconic Missives during the crafting process, to guarantee certain Secondary Stats.

Dragonflight Professions in a Nutshell

The changes and additions to professions in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight are shaping up to be some of the most significant in recent years. With new gathering and crafting stats, the introduction of Quality Ranks, and the ability to recraft items, the game is pushing players to strive for higher quality and more specialized items. The Crafting Orders system and profession-enhancing gear further expand the possibilities for players to engage with professions in new and exciting ways. As always, we can’t wait to see how players adapt and innovate with these new features, and we look forward to exploring the world of crafting and gathering in Dragonflight.
