It’s no secret that World of Warcraft is a huge MMORPG. It’s been around for over 18 years and shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, with the recent changes to how targeting works in the game, it seems that Blizzard is gearing up to take World of Warcraft into the console gaming sphere. The acquisition by Microsoft buying Activision only confirms this suspicion. So, the question on everyone’s mind is…will World of Warcraft be coming to XBOX in 2024?
WoW Changes that Suggest Console Development
1) Targeting has changed so players can now choose between tab targeting (PC) and soft targeting (Console).
2) Interact with Target Keybind.
3) Interact with Target sound effect.
4) Click to move (click where you want your character to move).
5) Empowered Spell Input: Press and Tap or Hold and Release.
6) Press and Hold Casting.
7) Enable Action Targeting (Soft Targeting).
8) Text to Speech options (transcribe voice chat).
WoW on Console: When will it happen?
It’s clear that the game is making significant changes to cater to a console audience, but will it actually happen? Only time will tell, but with the way things are going, we wouldn’t be surprised if World of Warcraft makes its debut on XBOX in 2024.
In the meantime, PC players can enjoy all of the new console-friendly updates while waiting for the potential release.
Who knows, maybe we’ll even see a World of Warcraft XBOX exclusive expansion in the future. Only time will tell. But one thing’s for sure: the world of Azeroth is about to get even bigger.
WoW Veteran Opinion of WoW going to Console
As a WoW veteran, I have mixed feelings about the potential release on XBOX. On one hand, it’s exciting to see the game expand and bring in more players from the console community. On the other hand, there may be some growing pains as PC and Console players learn to play together and adapt to each other’s playstyles.
Having played Dragonflight using all of the new console features, it’s really clear to see that they make the game more user friendly, easier to complete objectives and simpler to understand. This will encourage more people to continue playing the game.
Either way, I’m excited to see how WoW continues to evolve and grow with these changes, and I can’t wait to jump into Azeroth on my console someday. Bring it on, Blizzard!
Will Microsoft add WOW to the Xbox Pass?
Only time will tell, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Microsoft adding World of Warcraft to their Xbox Pass as a monthly subscription option in the future. With the growing popularity and success of WoW on console, it’s only logical for Microsoft to want a piece of that pie.
Having WoW on the Xbox pass will increase the value of the xbox pass and encourage more WoW players to try other games on Xbox, this in turn will create excellent cross selling opportunities for Microsoft. WoW isn’t going anywhere at all so it makes sense to continue to offer value to the players and give more opportunities for the console player base to start playing World of Warcraft.
Until then, PC players can continue enjoying all the updates and expansions while waiting for WoW’s potential debut on XBOX. And hey, who knows, maybe we’ll even see some exclusive content in the future.
Console: WoW becoming more PG?
While the potential for WoW on console definitely brings excitement, it also means that the game may have to make some changes in order to adhere to Xbox’s more PG guidelines. This includes toning down excessive gore and violence, as well as limiting swearing in voice chat.
As a player who enjoys WoW’s mature themes, this news is a bit disappointing. However, I understand that expanding to a wider audience means making some sacrifices. And at the end of the day, it will ultimately bring more players into the wonderful world of Azeroth.
So while it may be bittersweet, I can’t wait to see how WoW continues to evolve and grow with these changes. Bring it on, Blizzard!
Features we need to get XBOX wow?
While some may argue that certain features are necessary for WoW’s release on XBOX, we believe the most important feature is simply a smooth transition and solid foundation for cross platform play.
Other potential features that could enhance the experience include controller-friendly UI and gameplay, as well as voice chat options to make communication easier between PC and Console players.
At the end of the day, as long as WoW on XBOX offers a seamless and enjoyable experience for both PC and Console players, we’ll be happy.
We trust Blizzard to make all the right decisions in bringing World of Warcraft to Xbox and if they don’t then have no fear, the player base will give feedback until Blizzard listens!
One response to “Is World of Warcraft Coming to Xbox in 2024?”
LMMFAO… Elder Scrolls Online on Xbox has multiple npcs into S&M… you pretty much swimming and bathing in blood to turn into a vampire… housing items with blood and gore all over them… I played WoW for years… there is nothing even remotely like that in there… as for chat… open zone chat, txt and voice straight up R rated… if anything WoW isn’t mature enough 😂🤣💀
