Or possibly, and these are my favorite kinds of players, you’re an Auction House Goblin, looking to make as much gold as you can in as little time as possible. Well, regardless of why you’re here, keep reading to see how YOU can farm Rousing and Awakened Elements in the Dragonflight Expansion!
What are Rousing and Awakened Elements?
Rousing and Awakened Elements are a crafting item used by essentially every major profession. They are the energy of the elements made physical. Typically found on Elemental type Mobs, or perhaps in hidden in some items charged by elemental magics. There are 6 major types available to farm in Dragonflight: Frost, Fire, Earth, Air, Decay, and Order.
How to farm: Rousing Frost
- Killing Frost Elementals: If I am farming via killing elementals, I tend to stay near Camp Antonidas in The Azure Span. There are a ton here that can drop Rousing Frost, and will hyper spawn with enough people in the zone!
- Herbalism: You can find “Frigid” type herbs all across the Dragon Isles. These will drop Rousing Frost when picked, and if you have the correct specialization you can even Overload a node. The Frigid Overload will spawn a frozen herb you can attack. After dealing enough damage, it shatters into many more herbs. These shattered herbs can also drop additional Rousing Frost.
- Enchanting: Can be found as a rare reward when Disenchanting, assuming you have the correct specialization. (I would not recommend this route for farming. It takes the longest to set up and has the least gain.)
How to farm: Rousing Fire
- Killing Fire/Lava Elementals: One of the newest types of elementals are of the Volcanic variety. These mobs can drop both Rousing Fire and Rousing Earth. If you are trying to farm Rousing Fire I suggest the small lava pit North East of the Ruby Life Pools. (This is the same are you go to following Thomas Bright’s profession quests!) These elementals respawn quickly, and do not take much to kill. You will get both Fire and Earth from these elementals, with Fire seeming to be the most common drop.
- Mining: With Mining you can harvest Molten Nodes and Primal Nodes. Molten Nodes will drop Rousing Fire, while Primal Nodes can drop Fire, Earth, and rarely Order. If you have the correct specialization you can Overload these nodes. Overloading Molten Nodes will summon a fire elemental for you to defeat, dropping even more Rousing Fire. Overloading a Primal Node will grant you many useful buffs, some Fire and Earth, and potentially Order directly to your inventory.
- Enchanting: Can be found as a rare reward when Disenchanting, assuming you have the correct specialization. (I would not recommend this route for farming. It takes the longest to set up and has the least gain.)
How to farm: Rousing Earth
- Killing Earth Elementals: There aren’t many solely Earth Elementals in Dragonflight, and the few areas I could find have many Elites making farming this way a bit more difficult. I’d recommend Spending time at the Expedition Dig North East of the Ruby Life Pools. There are many fast spawning Earth Elementals that can drop Rousing Earth.
- Mining: With Mining you can find Hardened Nodes. These nodes drop Rousing Earth in spades, and you can overload them to provide even more. When Hardened Nodes are overloaded, they shatter off additional small nodes that can be mined. These nodes will drop Rousing Earth. You will also find Rousing Earth on Primal Nodes.
- Enchanting: Can be found as a rare reward when Disenchanting, assuming you have the correct specialization. (I would not recommend this route for farming. It takes the longest to set up and has the least gain.)
How to farm: Rousing Air
- Killing Air/ Storm Elementals: Theres a spot in the Ohn’ahran plains that is great for farming Rousing Air. (This is only available when the associated World Quest is available, otherwise there will not be any elementals present.) The elementals spawn quickly and incredibly close together, ideal for classes with great AoE.
- Herbalism: Occasionally, you will find Windswept Nodes. These nodes will drop Rousing Air, but are very dangerous. They will knock you around, potentially to your death. When you overload these nodes, you will fly into the air. Fall through the flowers in the air and you will gain bonus herbs and Rousing Air.
- Enchanting: Can be found as a rare reward when Disenchanting, assuming you have the correct specialization. (I would not recommend this route for farming. It takes the longest to set up and has the least gain.)
How to farm: Rousing Decay
- Killing Decaying Mobs: This is going to be a hard element to farm, unless you are spamming the dungeon Brackenhide Hollow, or if you are in a group to farm the elites. The only other place I know of is a small area to the South East of Brackenhide, used for a short World Quest and Questline. Kill the Oozing Decays and Rotting Treants has a small chance for Rousing Decay to drop.
- Herbalism: Herbalists can find Decaying Herbs near Brackenhide Hollow (The outside zone version) or they can grow Decayed Herbs with a Decayed Seed. These are a rare gather result from Herbalists with the correct talents. You plant them in Rich Soil, and they always spawn a Decayed Herb, without having to fight elites!
How to farm: Rousing Order
Finally, we get to our special case. Rousing Order is the rarest of all of the elements. There are no elementals to farm, testing has yielded 0 drops from Disenchanting. This leaves us with ONLY Herbalism and Mining. You can find Titan Touched Nodes of all varieties in every zone. The zones with the most Titan Influence will have the most nodes. This means Waking Shores and Thaldrazzus.
Make sure you have a toon with BOTH Mining and Herbalism to maximize this. You will want to Elemental Overload EVERY single Titan-Touched node you find, as just the act of overloading will reward you with an extra 6 – 11 Rousing order. With additional specializations you can gain more elementals from just herbing and mining, or you can make your herbing and mining faster / more efficient. These are the only ways to increase your Rousing Order farming rates.
