Introduction

Magmorax is the Lava Hydra pet of none other than Neltharion himself! A guard dog trained by the Earth-warder to defend his most secret of experiments. This is a single target DPS race of a fight. Defeat Magmorax before he overloads and enrages, or else all is lost!

Positioning

You will want to keep Magmorax near one side of the platform, while the group focuses on soaking lava puddles near the boss, and dropping puddles far away when you can. The lava puddles will spawn faster and faster, and grow faster as the fight progresses. Keep soaking until your team can tunnel the boss for the kill.

Important Abilities

Catastrophic EruptionMagmorax’s enrage mechanic. Once he reaches 100 energy he will rage, dealing rapidly increasing fire damage. He will gain energy when standing in Magma Puddles, so make sure to keep them far away from where he is standing.
Molten SpittleMultiple players will be targeted with Molten Spittle. This is an AoE DoT that players MUST move out of the raid. When it expires, it will leave a Magma Puddle on the ground.
Magma PuddleMagma Puddles will spawn throughout the fight. They can be soaked by having players stand in the puddles, but players will receive a stacking debuff. You should probably stop soaking around 6-7 stacks.
If you reach 10 stacks, you will over heat. This prevents you from soaking for 20 seconds and deals damage, so avoid this unless you have no choice.
Blazing TantrumThe boss throws a tantrum when standing in magma puddles, he gets 5 energy per second while having his tantrum, keep him out of the puddles!
Igniting RoarThis is an AoE pulse the boss does. It acts as a manner of soft enrage. It applies a permanent DoT that lasts for the duration of the fight. It will also cause Magma Puddles to spawn on the platform in Semi-Random locations. (Seems to spawn near groups of players, so it can possibly be baited.)
Overpowering StompAoE knock back that does MASSIVE damage, and knocks you back a considerable distance. This can currently be cheesed using a Warlock Gateway at the last second, but this may be patched before release. Take care to not be knocked off the platform or knocked back into magma puddles.
Blazing BreathMagmorax will target a random player with a conal attack. This is simple to dodge if the raid stands at a 90 degree angle to the tanks. If the boss is not facing the tanks, prepare to dodge.
Incinerating MawsTank swap. Swap off at about 2 stacks.

Role-Specific Mechanics

There are several things that each raider should be aware of and prepared for. Check below for what each role is focusing on during the fight!

Tanks

Tanks, your primary goal is to make sure the boss is not standing in puddles, as well as making sure he is not in a place that will knock players off the platform. Swap at a comfortable stack count with your off tank, and stay out of the fire!

Healers

Keep an eye on the players with Molten Spittle. The DoT lasts for longer than is comfortable, so players may need some extra heals to survive it.

Damage

Melee, try to soak puddles that are getting too close for comfort. Range, soak puddle near the middle of the room so that they do not grow into the boss. Drop puddles as close to the opposite edge of the room as you can. Help your tanks!

Conclusion

A necessary execution. With the fall of Magmorax the way to the inner chambers of Aberrus are open. None stand between you and the secrets long hidden by the Earth-Warder.
