Introduction

Rashok is an immensely powerful Zaqali Elder, and the source of the Magma flowing through Aberrus. Put him down and stop the flow of lava and power! This single target encounter takes place in your standard boss arena.

Positioning

This fight alternates between siphon phases and DPS phases. During the siphon phases stand close together and help your healer with personal CD’s. During the DPS phases you want to make sure you’re soaking the soak mechanics, and placing the puddles in places where Lava Flows will most likely flow into a wall.

Example of Positioning during the Rashok encounter.

Important Abilities

Ancient FuryWhen Rashok reaches 100 Energy, he enrages. He will do pulsing fire damage to the raid until everyone dies. To prevent this, kite him to the center of the room to trigger Siphon Energy.
Molten WrathEvery 15 seconds all Living Lava puddles will emit lava flows into random directions. Dodge these.
Searing SlamPeriodically, the boss will target a player with a Searing Slam. The targeted player should run out to one of the edges of the room, near where lava puddles exist already. When the boss lands, he will do AoE damage based on distance, as well as leave a new Living Lava puddle. If any existing puddles are in the circle where he lands, they will explode for raid wide damage.
Doom FlameCircles of flame will spawn around the room. These must be soaked, or they will deal raid wide damage. Players that soak these will get a DoT for about 30 seconds.
Shadowlava BlastA 1 shot conal cleave. Dodge this.
Charged SmashA cleave that the entire raid should soak. Damage is split amongst all players in the smash.
Volcanic ComboTank Swap mechanic. He will attack twice, once with earth and once with fire. A tank should take one, then the 2nd tank should taunt before the other.
Siphon EnergyWhen the boss enters the center of the room, he will begin to be drained of energy. He will do moderate raid wide damage during this channel, and once it is complete he will gain a debuff preventing the drain for roughly 1.5 minutes.
Unyielding RageThis is cast when Siphon Energy is over. All players will get knocked back and Roshok cannot be drained again until this wears off.

Role-Specific Mechanics

There are several things that each raider should be aware of and prepared for. Check below for what each role is focusing on during the fight!

Tanks

Tanks, keep an eye on his Energy and the timer for Volcanic combo. The entire raid is relying on you moving the boss in time to prevent the Enrage.

Healers

There are no dispells on this fight. Stay on your toes and be prepared to panic heal your slower DPS when the lava flows spawn.

Damage

DO NOT STAND IN THE FIRE. Keep moving, and help your healers. Move the Searing Slam away, and drop it near where your raid agrees.

Conclusion

With Rashok defeated, you have ensured that the future inhabitants of Aberrus will have no font of power to tap. Continue further, you are running out of time to defeat Sarkareth!
