Discover the exciting new features in Mythic+ with Dragonflight! Season 1 brought a host of fresh changes to this popular World of Warcraft game mode, including a brand new seasonal affix called Thundering, an updated dungeon rotation, and an increase in item level rewards. Feel free to check out our “Getting Started in Mythic+ Guide” if you’re new to World of Warcraft.
Dragonflight Season 1 Mythic+ Dungeons
One of the most significant changes in Season 1 is the introduction of the Dragonflight Season 1 Mythic+ Dungeon Pool. Rather than having all eight new Dragonflight dungeons available for Mythic+ play, only four of them will be included in the Mythic+ pool, alongside four dungeons from previous expansions. Specifically, Season 1’s Mythic+ pool will feature two dungeons from Legion, one from Warlords of Draenor, and one from Mists of Pandaria.
Here’s a rundown of the eight dungeons available in the Mythic+ difficulty for Dragonflight Season 1

Dragonflight Season 1 Affix: Thundering
Get ready for a new Mythic+ seasonal affix in Dragonflight Season 1 – Thundering! This affix adds a new layer of challenge to the game mode, periodically marking all players with different debuffs that boost their damage and healing by 30%. However, if the debuffs are not removed before they expire, they will explode and cause significant damage to the player.
To remove the debuffs, players must come into contact with a player who has the opposite debuff. This is where it gets tricky – the Primal Overload sends out two different marks: Mark of Wind and Mark of Lightning, both of which have a 15-second duration. If players fail to clear the debuffs before they expire, they will be afflicted with Primal Overload and be stunned for 5 seconds while taking heavy damage over time.
It’s important to note that in a Mythic+ dungeon, there are five players, so one player will not be able to clear the debuff. However, as long as the other four players successfully clear their debuffs, the player without a cleared debuff will not be punished for it expiring and will benefit from the damage increase until the debuff drops off.
Check out our Seasonal Affix Overview for more information on how to tackle this challenging new affix and come out on top in Dragonflight Season 1’s Mythic+ dungeons!
